CTA Volunteer Application for Our 2022-2023 Tax Season
2023 TRAINING SCHEDULE
CTA is pleased to announce our upcoming training schedule. All volunteers, regardless of experience level, must attend training. Here is our class schedule as of now.
Everyone is invited to Basic training. COURSE CONTENT: This class consists of an introduction to CTA and a review of Federal and New York State tax rules with special emphasis on the low-income individual. Additionally, we will review interviewing techniques. THIS CLASS IS MANDATORY.
This class will be given via ZOOM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 9am to 5pm. A lunch break is scheduled from 12 noon to 1pm.
This class will be given via ZOOM on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9am to 12noon. We will prepare a tax return using our tax software. THIS CLASS IS MANDATORY.
This forum is a chance for you to ask us about anything CTA: questions on training, our materials, the virtual tax return process, your responsibilities, etc. It is also a way for us to get to know you and to help you navigate through this upcoming season. This meeting will be given via ZOOM on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm. THIS MEETING IS NOT MANDATORY.
WHAT ELSE HAPPENS AT TRAINING?
You will be asked to commit to volunteering your time at one of our storefronts. Storefronts are community donated space where CTA conducts its services. We have dedicated storefront sites. We also conduct One Day Events, a short-term commitment at several locations. A complete list of storefront locations and One Day Events will be available at training.
